The association responsible body for building envelope planners was founded in February 2021. The association develops the Building Envelope Planner course and is the legally responsible body for conducting the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) in Building Envelope Planning.

The construction industry needs competent specialists to ensure that building envelopes are executed to the highest quality standards in construction projects. This is why we have developed the new profession of "building envelope planner".
What does a building envelope planner do?
Building envelope planners are specialists in the planning and realization of comprehensive building envelopes or parts of a building envelope in the context of new buildings and conversions.
With their cross-sector expertise, they have a particular focus on relevant transitions between building sections.
Who is the training aimed at?
- Graduates of a Federal Professional Examination in building envelope, plumbing, plastering, timber construction or a related professional field (e.g. Building Envelope Foreman FPE, Plumber Foreman FPE, Plasterer Project Manager FPE, Timber Construction Foreman FPE)
- Graduates of a College of Higher Education in a related professional field
-Holders of a Federal VET Diploma as a draughtsperson or a comparable Federal VET Diploma with supplementary training. Previous training / practice

Module 1
Communication and customer needs
Module 1 focuses on communication, both with customers and with other professionals.
Module 2
Transitions on the building envelope and detailed plans
As part of Module 2, you will deal with the requirements for a building envelope using the various show houses.
Module 3
Concepts and cost calculations
In Module 3, you will learn how to calculate the rough costs for the planning and construction of a building envelope on the basis of a defined design variant and how to draw up a usage agreement.
Module 4
Coordination
Module 4 teaches the relevant skills to create a project schedule and timetable, taking into account the planned transitions.
Module 5
Quality and leading project teams
In Module 5, you will learn how to regularly check the quality of the work carried out during the entire construction phase, carry out acceptance tests and provide evidence of any defects.

Networking and transfer
Module 6 is used for networking and transfer.
