The School of Occupational Pensions was founded in 1987 to provide pension fund managers and their employees with a broad and sound education and to certify their professional knowledge with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education.

The school is the only training institution in German-speaking Switzerland that offers recognized in-service training for pension fund professionals and conducts the federally recognized examinations. The school has signed a cooperation agreement with two institutes for the corresponding training in French-speaking Switzerland.

The training offered by the school today comprises three areas: training to become a Federal Diploma of Higher Education pension fund manager; training to become a Federal Diploma of Higher Education pension fund administrator; and specialized training in the form of basic training courses and advanced seminars.

Both the federal diploma examinations and the federal professional examinations are organized by the school and conducted under the supervision of OPET.
