A private school with tradition
The concept of part-time training also gives working people and students the opportunity to complete professional musical theater or acting training. Around 60 students from all over Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein are currently studying at SAMTS. Around 30 national and international lecturers guarantee a holistic and professional education. Numerous former students and graduates of SAMTS work on professional stages as well as in film and television.
The drama department at SAMTS emerged from the Zurich Drama School. This renowned drama school with over 60 years of tradition was taken over by SAMTS in 2013.

Part-time acting training (3 half days/week)The 4-year part-time course includes around 16 hours of lessons on three half days or evenings per week. It concludes with the SAMTS professional diploma. This entitles you to direct admission to the Swiss Performing Arts Association.
Acting school on Friday
The acting school on Friday offers the possibility of a compressed and professional acting training on only one day a week and is ideally suited for working people and students who have little time but still want to fulfill their dream of working as an actor. The basic training lasts 2.5 years, the professional diploma takes 5 years. In the final year, attendance of an additional half day per week is compulsory.
Part-time musical training (3 half days/week)The 4-year part-time course includes around 16 hours of lessons on three half days or evenings per week. It concludes with the SAMTS professional diploma. This entitles you to direct admission to the Swiss Performing Arts Association.
Musical school on Saturday (basic training)The Musical School on Saturday offers the opportunity of a three-year condensed and professional basic musical training course in just one day a week. It is ideal for working people and students who have little time but still want to fulfill their dream of musical training. After three years, you graduate with the SAMTS Basic Diploma, which enables you to progress directly to the professional level of part-time SAMTS training. There, after a further 2 years, the SAMTS professional diploma can be obtained.
Continuing education, further training and courses
SAMTS offers a wide range of training opportunities and courses for beginners and advanced students in the fields of acting, film and musicals.
Whether method acting, Meisner, basics, film acting, ballet, jazz dance or musical dance, role study or performing song interpretation - young professionals as well as those interested in acting or musicals will find the right course here. Participation is confirmed with a course certificate.
SAMTS also offers individual coaching, audition preparation, acting lessons and singing lessons
First-class national and international lecturers
SAMTS is taught by first-class lecturers from Switzerland and abroad who are or were themselves successful on or behind the stage or in television and who have had a decisive influence on the Swiss musical and theater scene.
SAMTS was founded by singer, actor, director and musical performer Patrick Biagioli.
Training content
During theActing trainingyou will learn and apply proven acting techniques such as Method Acting, Emotional Patterns, Meisner and Basics.
A major focus is on small group lessons in role study/scene study. You will also receive lessons in improvisation, bodywork, fencing, etc.
We also place great emphasis on teaching professional stage language. We will help you achieve this goal with targeted speaking lessons (including those based on Kristin Linklater).
Our students train their stage presence in regular showcases, performances and projects.
The focus of theMusical schoolis in the areas of acting, dance and singing.
In addition to regular lessons in jazz dance, modern dance and ballet, we teach you proven acting techniques such as method acting, Meisner, basics, speaking technique etc. and teach you ensemble singing.
A major focus of the musical training is on the interpretation of songs and the study of roles and scenes.
Here, too, the students are always on stage in regular projects, performances and showcases.
Individual support / high practical relevance
We teach mainly in small groups and thus promote individual talents and accompany you on your way to becoming a professional stage artist. Our training is practice-oriented. Our students perform on stage time and again during their training. In this respect, we try to provide the best possible support.
During our showcases, the final project performances and during the annual project week, there is always an opportunity to present what we have learned to an audience.
Part-time and professional
We have no age limit. The training is also suitable for students and professionals.
