I founded Hochheuser Hochzeitsplanung in 2006, having previously worked for years in international marketing (Daniel Swarovski Corporation) and in the publishing industry (Jean Frey AG). In the noughties, wedding planners in Switzerland could still be counted on one hand; many only knew them from Hollywood films. But there was interest among people wanting to get married: in the first year after the company was founded, I was already able to accompany several large weddings and that's what I still do today: every year I accompany a wide variety of wedding couples as a wedding planner or wedding ceremony designer. This combination is ideal for me: sometimes I act as an organizer, often "only" as a wedding service provider. I see the wedding organization from different perspectives, but in both positions I am a person of trust for the bridal couple and a contact person for various partners. Because I am still active in the business, the latest trends do not pass me by

I am happy to pass on my experience: in 2008, I founded the Association of Independent Swiss Wedding Planners VUSH together with a professional colleague with the intention of offering wedding planners in Switzerland a strong network, regular exchange of experience and serious training. The latter was implemented shortly afterwards with the help of SAWI, the Swiss Training Center for Marketing, Advertising and Communication, where I had once attended school myself. I designed the diploma course for wedding planners, which was held for the first time in 2010/2011 and was the course director and main lecturer for 9 years. When the SAWI became less and less important due to the reorganization of the training landscape in Switzerland and the VUSH decided to no longer offer its own training, it was time to go my own way here too. However, the association is still close to my heart: after presiding over it for many years, I am now an honorary member and always encourage my students to join once they have completed their training.

In 2019, I launched Yvonne's wedding planning school and offered a short course in fall 2019 - the participants were all very enthusiastic. There was a lot of interest in the course, but not as many students were able to make time for the 5 Saturdays as I had hoped. I have therefore decided to offer my course as a distance learning course in future: You should be able to start when you want - and stop again when you realize that, despite all your enthusiasm, you don't have the time. In terms of content, the same knowledge is taught as in previous years - and a little more, after all, I'm always learning! You complete the extensive compendiums and challenging homework at your own pace - the latter is corrected and commented on by me. In this way, I ensure that theory and practice are put into practice: All the tasks are modeled on those of a professional wedding planner; so you get to practice "being a wedding planner".

Teaching the basics of professional wedding planning in Switzerland

Everyone who loves weddings and wants to learn what it means to be a wedding planner: People with a dream job as a wedding planner, wedding professionals who want to know more about wedding planning as a whole, bridal parties, witnesses...

 

Duration:

Individual - the individual course modules can be completed at your own pace. Experience has shown that it is also possible to complete the course in a few weeks if you have a lot of free time.

Shape:

Distance learning: Each module includes a comprehensive compendium/learning booklet and a practice-oriented homework assignment, which is corrected/commentated by me - for more details, see "Special features".

 

Attestation/certificate:

Upon successful completion of modules 1 - 10 (all homework completed), participants receive a certificate detailing the skills they have acquired. Upon successful completion of module 12, a certificate of excellence is also issued.

 

Costs:

Each module costs CHF 100; it is also possible to take only individual modules.
