My name is Nadine Bucher. I am a complementary therapist using the yoga therapy method. I am currently setting up my own practice and also give yoga classes. I originally trained as a chef and worked in the hospitality industry for a long time. After further training, I moved into the office. Then I went into motherhood. Later, I wanted to go in a new direction where I listened to myself and my heart.
In fact, a good friend of mine always told me about her training as a yoga complementary therapist, which she completed at the time. I had wanted to attend a yoga course for some time. Her stories sparked my interest and I became more and more interested in the structure of the course. I therefore also decided to complete the yoga training course at the IKT Institute.
I think a certain passion and personal motivation are certainly helpful in gaining a foothold in the yoga therapy profession. If you take your time, it can develop into something wonderful.
What I particularly appreciated about the yoga course was growing together with my fellow students. I really enjoyed that. The content of the yoga course was also really well structured. The training concept covered a lot of topics and many interesting aspects. I was particularly interested in the Tronc Commun part with the basics of conventional medicine. Of course, the location in Lucerne was also very convenient for me and easy to reach by public transport.
In every training program, you sometimes reach your limits. I can't name any specific problem that I was confronted with. However, it was challenging for me to keep everything in order and to have everything together and ready in time for the handover at the end of the training. But I was able to deal with it well and it prepared me for my current job.
Yes, as a complementary therapist, I am more satisfied with the yoga method today than I used to be. Not only professionally, but also privately. Because the profession is very fulfilling. I can pass something on to society and contribute to preventive healthcare. This comes from the heart and definitely makes me happier.
My success is the ownership of the yoga group I have built up myself. These people enjoy coming to Vini Yoga. Vini Yoga is a special type of teaching method in which the yoga teacher does not participate, but only guides. People listen to the voice and perform the exercises themselves. This allows people to concentrate firmly on themselves and strengthen their self-awareness. In addition, the yoga is adapted to the individual person, which for me is really something wonderful. This means that if there are ten people in the room, they don't all practise the same thing, but someone practises with the chair, another on the floor and another against the wall. In this way, everyone is picked up where they are at the moment. We also take these principles from Vini Yoga into yoga therapy as a basis for guiding people. It is also a success for me when I have someone in yoga therapy where I see or perceive an improvement and change. They then tell me in the final consultation that they are really feeling better. This is achieved through the client's own initiative in performing the yoga exercises. This gives me great pleasure!
What I particularly liked about teaching at IKT was the exchange of experiences and dialog with the other students. I also really appreciated experiencing the different lecturers and their wealth of experience.
The atmosphere in the class was very nice. Everyone was able to express their opinion and we met as equals. Working together was a lot of fun. You could also learn something from everyone, because everyone was special in their own way and could bring something different to the class.
For me, the IKT Institute is very innovative, competent and transparent. These are also words that fit the abbreviation.
I would recommend training as a yoga therapist to anyone who is prepared to go through a personal process. Which can also mean a lot of good things in your private life. All people who are prepared to support other people in doing something for their health.
