The Federal VET Diploma apprenticeship as a print media processor can be completed in a bookbindery, a print shop or a print finishing company. You can choose between four different specializations: Printing equipment; Bookbinding; Dispatch technology; Binding technology. In a certificate course in bookbinding, you will be introduced to all the content that will enable you to carry out small cardboard jobs and produce books. You can attend various courses and seminars to refine your skills and specialize, but you can also opt for further federal training. For example, continuing education, further training to become a print specialist with a federal certificate of proficiency (EFA) or a print media processing specialist (EFA) is possible. It is also possible to study at a College of Higher Education to become a CHE media technician specializing in polygraphy. Those with a high school diploma also have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in a university course, such as a bachelor's degree in conservation-restoration or media engineering.
