The further training course to become a management secretary is usually part-time and is aimed at people who already have a commercial and administrative qualification in the form of a commercial diploma or a commercial diploma with English as a foreign language. Depending on the type of training to become a management assistant, the continuing education, further training can last between a few months (e.g. 3 months to become a head physician and management assistant with a school diploma), a year (e.g. to become a certified medical head physician secretary) or one to two years (e.g. to become a certified management assistant with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education). Enquire directly with the providers.

There is no federal qualification for executive secretaries, but there is one for executive assistants with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education.
