The course for the practice laboratory certificate is aimed at medical secretaries and H+ medical secretaries as well as people with other basic training who already have basic medical knowledge and may have attended a consultation assistant course.

After completing the continuing education, further training and obtaining the certificate of proficiency in the practice laboratory, graduates are able to carry out simple analyses in hematology, urine diagnostics and coagulation diagnostics and correctly use the usual analysis devices and aids. They also have knowledge of the most common medical and laboratory-specific terminology, know how to differentiate between normal blood cells in differential blood counts and the causes of and changes in atypical lymphocytes, left shifts, anemia, eosinophilia and the gross pattern of leukemia, and can differentiate between these, have knowledge of quality assurance, disposal and hygiene guidelines and can use control materials.

Training for the practical laboratory certificate lasts approximately one semester and takes place on a total of 25 course evenings, each once a week.

As the courses for the certificate of proficiency in the practice laboratory take place exclusively in the evenings, it is possible for you to continue working full-time.
