There is a European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) for road transport and a regulation concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail (RID), or "ADR / RID" for short. When handling dangerous goods during transportation, it is therefore essential to ensure that all regulations in accordance with ADR / RID are complied with. For this reason, companies that handle or transport such goods are dependent on a competent dangerous goods officer who is committed to ensuring that dangerous goods are handled correctly. They monitor all processing steps and ensure that the transport regulations are complied with. In the event of ambiguities, they take on an advisory role both internally and externally and are also important contacts for the company when it comes to purchasing transport equipment that complies with regulations. They supervise and manage the personnel responsible for packaging, filling, shipping, loading, transporting and unloading dangerous goods.
