A further education course in real estate accounting is usually aimed at clerks in the fields of accounting, fiduciary services or real estate management who want to deepen their knowledge of real estate accounting. However, it is also generally aimed at people who want to continue their education in the real estate industry and have the necessary prior knowledge, as well as employees from the insurance, finance and fiduciary sectors who come into contact with real estate accounting.

Anyone who completes a certificate course in real estate accounting will acquire in-depth skills in real estate accounting, such as heating cost accounting, ancillary cost accounting, investment properties and STWEG. He or she will also know all about the interrelationships and problems of property gains tax, optimization, tax returns and tax separation, be able to calculate, apply and interpret controlling and benchmark marketing figures, have a market- and customer-oriented way of thinking and acting, know the various planning instruments and forms of financing and be able to apply the knowledge acquired in class in practice.

In real estate accounting, interested parties can obtain the nationally recognized diploma "Sachbearbeiter/in Immobilien-Buchhaltung edupool.ch", which is supported by the Swiss Commercial Association and offers the best prerequisites for attending further training courses in the real estate industry, such as Federal Diploma of Higher Education in real estate management, real estate valuation or real estate marketing.

Participants in most courses in property accounting are expected to have advanced accounting knowledge, good written and spoken German and at least two years of general professional experience.

Training in property accounting is carried out on a part-time basis and comprises around 100 lessons, which are usually spread over six months.
