Training in the field of ventilation technology, ventilation systems and air technology

There are numerous sub-categories and sub-areas in ventilation technology, but it primarily involves the ventilation of buildings and structures and their supply with air. This can be done in very different ways. It is divided into the following categories: room air technology (RLT) and process air technology. Process air technology is in turn divided into extraction, separation, drying and conveying, while room air technology is subdivided into free or mechanical ventilation or into systems with and systems without a ventilation function. In ventilation technology, free ventilation refers to the use of natural pressure changes caused by wind and thermal (temperature differences). Mechanical ventilation is controlled by fans and blowers, which creates ideal conditions in terms of air purity, temperature and humidity.

Ventilation technicians are specialists in all aspects of technical ventilation systems and are indispensable in ventilation technology. They are responsible for planning the optimum system for an individual building, commissioning and maintaining it, as well as carrying out any necessary repairs. In order to learn all this, you need sound training and, ideally, regular further training. For example, you can train to become a ventilation and air conditioning systems hygienist or a ventilation service technician.

Questions and answers

Participants in the ventilation technology training course to become a service fitter or service technician for ventilation/air conditioning are expected to have completed an apprenticeship as a ventilation fitter, building services planner specializing in ventilation/air conditioning, building services planner specializing in refrigeration, refrigeration fitter or another professional qualification related to the air conditioning industry with several years of professional experience as a ventilation fitter. Persons with other professional qualifications or even without an apprenticeship qualification can also be admitted to the course if they have sufficient practical experience as a ventilation fitter.

Depending on the school and degree, training in ventilation technology lasts three days (ventilation and air conditioning hygienist), nine months (ventilation/air conditioning service technician) and one year (ventilation/air conditioning service fitter).

Air conditioning technology, heating technology, electrical engineering, refrigeration technology, water technology, MSRT, connection technology, safety, hygiene guidelines VDI 6022, planning and reports as well as customer behavior are the modules to be completed in the ventilation technology / building technology training to become a ventilation / air conditioning service technician. Filter technology, hygiene training B, specialist approval for refrigerants and dealing with chemicals legislation are also part of the training to become a ventilation/air conditioning service technician.

Not every training course in ventilation technology includes the specialist approval for refrigerants and hygiene training B in accordance with SWKI VA104-01 / VDI 6022, so you should enquire about this detail directly with the individual training providers using our contact form.

The course on ventilation hygiene is specially designed for janitors and provides them with in-depth knowledge on the hygienic operation and efficient maintenance of ventilation and air conditioning systems.
