CAS in Business Administration, Management and Ethics - fair and ethical management

If you work in an entrepreneurial and business management capacity, sooner or later questions will arise regarding ethics and fairness in business management. How are conflicts resolved in a spirit of partnership or how do you deal properly with entrepreneurial and socio-political challenges? The CAS in Business Administration, Management and Ethics deals with strategic management in the entire business environment as well as the important and challenging topics of business ethics, socio-cultural management, diversity management, the Code of Ethics and the world and people views in management. It therefore examines all areas of management from an ethical perspective and critically scrutinizes the various strategies and methods. This Certificate of Advanced Studies promotes an understanding of the role of companies in society and formulates the ethical framework for successful, sustainable and effective management.

Questions and answers

The course consists of 40 learning units in business administration, management and ethics. Depending on whether you choose the course version with or without classroom sessions, one course day or one half-day of consulting or two additional learning units are added. The course lasts four months, but can also be extended for longer.

The certificate course in business administration, management and ethics teaches participants the basics of strategic management with reference to the business environment, the fundamentals of process management and organizational theory, human resources and marketing as well as gender aspects and diversity management.

World and human images in management are also addressed, as well as the strategic control instrument of socio-cultural codes, ecological management, degressive price fixing, price calculations, marketing and ethics and the code of ethics in management.

The Institute for Economic and Business Ethics is offering the following seminar in Zurich from October 29, 2026, to October 30, 2026:

Applied Ethics—Ethical Argumentation and Decision-Making in Business and Society

In this seminar, the Institute aims to impart systematic knowledge in the field of practical ethics. The methods selected for this purpose create a knowledge base upon which the theoretical concepts of ethics, responsibility, and sustainability can be operationalized.

The approach taken is that ethical principles are a prerequisite for understanding these topics and determine the possibility of their practical implementation. The IfWU therefore begins by highlighting the fundamental principles underlying ethical rules as well as rules of responsibility and sustainability.

In addition, a consensus-building methodology is presented that can help achieve ethical, responsible, and sustainable decision-making that is acceptable to all parties.
