Questions and answers
Which target group is the MAS in Rehabilitation Nursing aimed at?
The Master of Advanced Studies in Rehabilitation Care (MAS Rehabilitation Care) is aimed at nurses and professionals from a wide range of healthcare professions. Participants are expected to want to specialize professionally and be responsible for patients with short, medium or long courses of care in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation facilities.
Is it possible to work as a rehabilitation trainer in rehabilitation care?
Training as a rehabilitation trainer is not sufficient qualification for professional work in rehabilitation care. Rehabilitation trainers create and supervise special training programs for rehabilitation patients based on recommendations from physiotherapists or other specialists, but are not responsible for clinical assessment. Alternatively, the MAS in Rehabilitation Care can be recommended.
What prior education is required for the MAS in Rehabilitation Nursing?
The MAS in Rehabilitation Care requires a university degree and at least two years of professional experience or, as a "sur-dossier" admission, a College of Higher Education diploma, three years of professional experience, at least 100 hours of further specialist training and an admission module. Participants are also expected to be able to work scientifically, read and understand specialist literature in English and have access to basic care or accident and health insurance.
How is the Master's in Rehabilitation Nursing structured?
The Master in Rehabilitation Care (MAS Rehabilitation Care) consists of 12 modules and, depending on previous education, an additional admission module. Each module lasts approximately two months and comprises around 150 hours of study, including four to six attendance days per module. It is possible to start the course with any of the modules offered (except the Master's modules), meaning that continuing education, further training can begin almost every month, provided the modules are not already fully booked.
What modules does the Master's in Rehabilitation Nursing consist of?
In addition to three Master's modules, one elective module and, depending on previous education, one admission module, the Master's in Rehabilitation Nursing consists of eight further modules.
