A certificate examination is not compulsory for the course in real estate maintenance, but is optional. You will receive a course certificate at the end of the course and, after successfully completing the examination, a certificate with details of your grade. There are additional costs for the examination.

The Property Maintenance Officer course is aimed at interested parties who come into contact with the maintenance of real estate in a professional capacity or who are able to maintain their own property. It is also aimed at people who are interested in buying a property and would like to familiarize themselves with property maintenance, renovation work and the costs involved and learn what to look out for in the building fabric.

Previous knowledge of real estate maintenance is not required for the certificate course in real estate maintenance.

The Property Maintenance Specialist KS / HEV course provides you with practical knowledge that enables you to maintain a property in a targeted manner using specific concepts and strategies. Participants in the course learn how to assess the building fabric and the buildings and how to call in the appropriate specialists to rectify the problem. They will also learn about the most common building defects and their causes and be shown how to prevent them. The subjects of this certificate course in real estate maintenance are Construction knowledge; ZGB and OR law; valuation; building law; dealing with complaints.

The course in real estate maintenance / property maintenance lasts around eight weeks. The course takes place weekly on two evenings and usually begins in October and April each year. The total number of lessons is 56, each lasting 45 minutes.
