You need balance, self-control and inner peace to be a police prison security assistant. You also need the ability to deal with people from different cultures. A challenging and varied job awaits you as a security assistant at border control. Your tasks will include checking people entering Switzerland and the Schengen area as well as people leaving the country. It is your responsibility to authorize entry or exit or to order further checks. On entry, you ask about the reason for the journey and the stay and assess whether the answers are credible. You also check whether the travel documents are genuine, recognized and valid and whether the photograph in the passport matches the person standing in front of you.

Security assistance is the support of security services. For example, security assistants accompany prisoners during transfers, presentations at courts, public prosecutors' offices or police stations. Or they provide security at the police and justice center. They supervise the police station, carry out access and entry checks and intervene in security matters within the building. This is usually done in cooperation with the security police.
