The social insurance expert with a federal diploma has knowledge of coordination and current issues and of the main features of constitutional law. As a qualified specialist, you will be able to provide well-founded information on the entire social insurance system, point out complex interrelationships and explore perspectives.

After training, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of the history, structure and economic aspects of social security. This includes the following insurance areas: Old-age and survivors' insurance AHV, disability insurance IV, compulsory accident insurance UV, social health insurance KV, military insurance MV, unemployment and insolvency compensation ALV, occupational benefits BV, supplementary benefits EL and social assistance.

Social insurance experts are familiar with all the legal bases in all the areas mentioned. They know who is entitled to benefits and are familiar with all aspects of the contribution system and insured risks. They also have broad experience of the types of benefits and entitlements that apply in the various branches of insurance and the special features that need to be taken into account. Your area of expertise also includes the financing system and determining the relevant sources of financing. To this end, you also work together with other service providers. This requires good negotiating tactics to ensure that benefits are paid to the satisfaction of all parties involved - for example, when determining pension entitlements, the obligation to pay benefits for a traffic accident victim, daily allowances, compensation in connection with occupational accidents or occupational illnesses, etc.

This daily involvement with laws and regulations requires a high degree of responsibility. In many cases, extensive research with the employer, health or pension fund or Suva is also necessary.

Requirements - Admission to the higher professional examination as a social insurance expert

The following requirements must be met:

Completion of the professional examination as a social insurance specialist and then at least 1 year of professional experience in the social insurance sector since obtaining the federal certificate (BP).

Conclusion

Passing the higher professional examination entitles the holder to the federally recognized title of "Certified Social Insurance Expert".
