Spanish courses in Spain - learning on the beach

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. With over 400 million Spanish speakers, Spanish is only surpassed by English, Chinese and Hindi. Spanish courses in Spain, Latin America or Switzerland therefore open up a whole new world of communication, allowing you to make contact with people from a wide variety of cultures.

In addition to many first-class language schools in Switzerland, you also have many opportunities to study Spanish at a language school in other Spanish-speaking countries. In addition to Spain, this can also be in Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico, Argentina or the Dominican Republic, for example. Spain naturally offers many advantages compared to the American states. For example, you don't have to take a long flight before you start your language course and you can always take a short break at home, especially during long stays abroad, such as during the Christmas vacations.

Spaniards are known for their joie de vivre, their passion, their temperament and their warmth. And the country itself has a lot to offer that the normal package tourist rarely gets to see. An extremely varied landscape with high mountain ranges, lush valleys, steep rock formations and roaring coastlines, sun-drenched beaches and rolling hills. It's not always easy to decide where to take your Spanish course in Spain.

Are you interested in the Spanish language? Would you like to learn this melodious and unique language in Spain rather than attend a conventional language course? Whether for beginners or advanced learners, Spanish courses in Spain are popular! In addition to Spanish courses, Spain as a summer destination also offers many other leisure activities: So combine your Spanish courses in Spain with vacation, leisure and fun! Learning in the Spanish vacation atmosphere is easy! During your free time, you can practise the Spanish you've learned straight away. Don't be afraid to talk to people and build up your language skills. This is the best way to consolidate and deepen your knowledge of Spanish.

language school, there are many different course models to choose from. Nevertheless, almost all language schools offer standard and intensive courses. These differ mainly in terms of the number of lessons and therefore the learning content and, in some schools, the class size. Standard courses usually have around 20 to 25 lessons per week of 45 minutes or more. This usually means that you have either a whole morning or an afternoon of lessons.

Intensive courses require you to spend an additional five to ten lessons per week at school, which means one to two extra lessons per day. There are also so-called combination models that offer private lessons in addition to the standard lessons in order to consolidate and intensify what you have learned. These private lessons can amount to two lessons per day. This information can of course vary depending on the language school in question.

In addition to this type of Spanish course in Spain, there are also so-called examination courses or diploma courses. They prepare you for one of the upcoming DELE exams, the Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera. Some schools also offer special courses that combine various leisure programs with Spanish language learning. For example, after a morning of Spanish vocabulary and grammar, you can have a great time at a flamenco or salsa or sail across the sea on a sailing ship in Palma de Mallorca.

Are you interested in Spanish courses in Spain? Numerous providers offer qualified Spanish courses for beginners and advanced learners. A language study trip to Spain is your opportunity to learn and use the Spanish language at the same time. Take a look at the language section of the Swiss education portal and ask the first-class providers of Spanish courses in Spain for more information.

Questions and answers

There are many language schools that also offer their students Spanish courses in Spain that prepare them professionally for upcoming diploma exams. These are usually the DELE exams, although they do require some knowledge of the language. Such diploma courses can vary in duration, but at least 4 weeks should be allowed for in order to be adequately prepared. The intensity is often up to 30 lessons per week for a four-week course, so you should expect an extremely intensive language stay.
Generally speaking, it tends to be the larger cities where Spanish courses are organized in order to provide those eager to learn with plenty of leisure activities after class. However, there are also smaller towns that promise peace and relaxation and allow you to get to know Spain from its less touristy side. It is best to enquire directly with the individual schools about the locations of your schools for a language study trip in Spain. The largest selection of language schools for Spanish courses in Spain can be found in the following cities:
  • Barcelona
  • Madrid
  • Salamanca
  • San Sebastián
  • Seville
  • Cadiz
  • Tarifa
  • Pamplona
  • Málaga
  • Córdoba
  • Ibiza
  • Granada
  • Marbella
  • Nerja
  • Vejer
  • Alicante
  • Tenerife
  • Valencia
  • Palma de Mallorca
As there are very different types of language courses that you can attend during a language study trip, the number of lessons per week can also vary considerably. You can attend Spanish courses in Spain where you only attend the language school for two hours every weekday, or you can opt for a super-intensive course where you attend seven lessons a day. Anything in between is possible, with standard courses usually amounting to 20 lessons per week, which means four lessons per day. The duration of each lesson is usually 45 minutes, but can also extend to 50 minutes or even 60 minutes. It is therefore always worth taking a closer look and it is ultimately up to you how much time you want to spend learning each day.
Spanish courses in Spain are popular with young and old alike, as there is not just one set course model, but a wealth of courses and schools to choose from. Most language schools give you the option of choosing between intensive courses, standard courses and semi-intensive courses, which differ mainly in the number of lessons per week. Each of these courses can be conducted in group courses, small groups or individual lessons. Combinations of these are also possible. Furthermore, diploma courses are offered to prepare you for the DELE or other exams, many language schools for Spanish courses in Spain also offer special courses for seniors or 50+, business Spanish (business Spanish), university preparation, internships with language courses of all kinds or offers for a language stay in the teacher's home. There are also a variety of Spanish courses that are combined with special leisure activities, such as golf, culture, cooking, tennis, surfing, dancing (flamenco, salsa) and the like.
Language schools for Spanish courses in Spain should be checked according to the same criteria as all other schools in other countries or for other languages, namely their quality. It is always best to start by looking for a course model that suits you. No matter how attractive the language school may be, if it does not offer the language course you want, it will be of little use to you. So first think about how much time you would like to spend in class each week and then take a look at the remaining schools. It makes sense to ask some Spanish schools to send you the necessary documents (the easiest way to do this is to use our contact form) and then compare the offers. Pay attention to the following points:
  • School size
  • Course size / number of participants
  • Qualifications of the language teachers / native speakers
  • Mix of nationalities
  • Accommodation / Selection of host families
  • Organized leisure programs
  • Bookable leisure programs
  • Location of the school
  • Distance school - accommodation
  • Transfer airport - accommodation
  • Prices and inclusive services
  • Contact person on site
  • For children and young people: 24-hour care
  • Possible change between the individual performance levels
