My name is Richard Scheerer. I am the Head of Technical Continuing Education at BZWU. I oversee all the technical continuing education courses that we offer at our school. This also includes the Team Leader course.
The Team Leader course is suitable for people who are allowed to take on their first management functions in companies. In other words, the classic employee who is appointed as the boss due to exceptional performance and special skills and now leads their colleagues as a team. This requires knowledge of leadership, self-management and organization. The course is aimed at people who are gaining their first management experience and would like to acquire the theoretical tools for this and continue their training.
The admission requirements for the team leader training course require an EFZ qualification or higher. It is also advantageous if you have life experience and good interpersonal skills. However, managers should check these basic requirements for managers anyway before sending their employees on such training or promoting them. Those who meet these requirements also have a good chance of successfully completing the training.
The Team Leader course teaches you:
The team leader training course has a modular structure. Everyone must attend the basic module "Specialist supervisor". After that, there are different levels:
Each level module lasts one week and is completed in the same way. The final modules are completed with a test at the Swissmem Academy. If you pass this test, you will receive a certificate as a team leader. Thanks to the different implementation options, everyone can put together the training according to their own needs.
