The techniques of transpersonal psychotherapy are very diverse. Important are spiritual paths of experience from religions such as elements of Eastern meditation, Christian contemplation and other traditions such as Sufism, shamanism or Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah), but also more body-oriented forms of therapy such as Wilhelm Reich's body therapies or Count Dürckheim's initiatic therapy. What they all have in common is an emphasis on mindfulness and a conscious focus on the body, sensations or simply "being".
