Swiss Distance-Learning University of Applied Sciences (FFHS)

As a federally recognized university of applied sciences, Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS) has been offering part-time Bachelor's and Master's degree courses as well as continuing education courses since 1998. With over 20 years of experience in distance learning, it is the leading e-university in Switzerland and an alternative for students who want to combine work, family and studies.

FFHS offers degree programs in the blended learning model: 80% of your studies are completed in guided self-study via an online learning platform, 20% takes place as face-to-face teaching at one of the four campuses (Zurich, Basel, Bern or Brig).

In addition, FFHS also offers virtual classes for individual training and further education courses.
This is a new form of teaching that perfects location-independent study.

Important! This is explicitly a hybrid form and not a purely virtual class: some of the students and lecturers are on site, while other students take part online at the same time.

Can CHE graduates also attend Web4Buisiness continuing education, further training?

A MAS in Web4Business generally requires a university degree. However, CHE graduates and holders of an AFPE diploma may be admitted to the program if they have sufficient professional experience. Admission for CHE and AFPE diploma holders is granted "sur dossier" by the Director of Studies.

What modules does the MAS in Web4Business consist of?

In order to obtain the MAS degree in Web4Business, students must complete a CAS of at least 50 ETCS. The missing 10 ECTS are achieved with the Master's thesis. You can choose from the following CASs: Web Engineering, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Data Analysis, Web and Information Design, Web Usability, IT & Law, Data Science, IT Security, Statistical Data Analysis and Data Visualization and Leadership. Is the Web4Business offer a course of study?

The Web4Business course is not a Bachelor's or consecutive (postgraduate) Master's course, but a Master's course leading to a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) at postgraduate level, which is roughly equivalent to the NDS postgraduate course. The Master's program is conducted as a distance learning course with 80% self-study and 20% attendance time.

What are the goals of the Web4Business Master?

The MAS in Web4Business is aimed at company managers and employees who want to familiarize themselves with the latest web technologies in order to drive forward the digitalization of business models, professionalize advertising appearances, implement the organization of company data and processes in the cloud and ensure IT security at all times.

For which target group is the Web4Business course designed?

The target audience of the continuing education course in Web4Business are IT employees who want to find out about legal issues, prospective web developers who want to delve deeper into web engineering, established web developers and webmasters who want to specialize in design and usability, (prospective) IT managers and data scientists.
