The three-year apprenticeship prepares you for administrative tasks in the world of the hotel and catering industry and creates a broad foundation for further opportunities in the hotel and catering industry. During the apprenticeship you will:

- focus on hospitality and excellent service;
- develop social skills and soft skills (communication, self-confidence, self-management);
- get to know the day-to-day running of the hotel based on operational and industry-specific know-how;
- complete practical training and courses that prepare you for your internships during your apprenticeship;
- complete internships during half of your apprenticeship, with the support of the school.

The job description is very varied and demanding, it includes work in the front office, direct customer contact at reception as well as tasks in the back office of a hotel and catering business.

The main focus of this Federal VET Diploma hotel communication specialist course is professional guest care. In addition, in-depth business knowledge and interrelationships, dealing in an intercultural environment and comprehensive administrative skills in various languages and in the area of accounting are taught.

During their training, future communication specialists in the hotel sector learn how to implement communication and marketing tasks professionally and successfully. They are familiar with the various areas of responsibility in a hotel business and act as a lynchpin between the individual functional areas such as catering, housekeeping and reception.
