Continuing education, further training VKS management assistant: CHF 5,450

  • 18 months part-time
  • School fees, documents: CHF 6,900 minus CHF 3,450 federal contribution = CHF 3,450
  • Examination fee: CHF 2,000
  • Total training costs: CHF 5'450

Difference in salary and return calculation: CHF 347,000

  • Difference in salary between the Federal VET Diploma clerk position and the management assistant position: CHF 6,319 - CHF 5,340 = CHF 979 per month and CHF 11,748 per year (12 x CHF 979 = CHF 11,748)
  • She recoups the entire training costs of CHF 5,250 in just over 5 months with her higher salary as an executive assistant (CHF 5,450 / CHF 979 per month = 5.6 months)
  • In the remaining 30 years until their retirement (35 to 65), this additional income will add up to CHF 352,440 (30 x CHF 11,748 = CHF 352,440)
  • If the training costs are deducted from this additional income, an additional sum of around CHF 347,000 remains at her disposal(CHF 352'440 - CHF 5'450= CHF 346'990)

The training costs correspond to an average of the courses offered in German-speaking Switzerland.
