My name is Martina Holinger and I live in Muhen near Aarau. I am 31 years old and in my spare time I play soccer. I also have two dogs. After completing an apprenticeship in the retail trade, I went to a commercial college. I then completed additional training in finance and accounting. I currently work as a client manager and licensed auditor at BDO in Aarau.
At the commercial college KV Aarau, I first completed the KV according to Article 32 E-Profile. Later, I started the accounting clerk course. While still on the course, I switched to the Finance and Accounting Specialist course.
I opted for the further training course in finance and accounting because I was able to obtain a good qualification with a federal certificate. This is highly recognized in the business world. It also gave me a license as an auditor from the audit supervisory authority.
I chose the KV Aarau commercial college for the finance and accounting specialist course because I had already had good experiences with this school during my commercial training and further training as an accounting clerk.
My further training as a finance and accounting specialist is a great help to me in my professional work. I can now handle mandates myself. I was also able to start further training to become a certified auditor.
For me, the best thing about the Finance and Accounting Specialist course was the learning content, which built on each other. Individual building blocks of knowledge came together at the end to form a complete house. This is something that our instructor kept telling us.
During the finance and accounting specialist course, I faced a number of challenges, such as balancing work, school and my private life. I was able to solve this by having to make sacrifices in all areas. As school was only a temporary demand on my time, it was easier for me to cut back in other areas.
I particularly liked the content of the Finance and Accounting Specialist course, which I was able to apply well in practice. These were mainly financial accounting topics or topics from management accounting.
Thanks to my specialist certificate in finance and accounting, I was promoted to mandate manager. This and my license as an auditor are successes that I was able to achieve directly through further training.
What I liked best about the lessons on the Finance and Accounting Specialist course was when we were able to discuss practical topics. I didn't like the purely theoretical parts as much, for example the investment calculations with formulas. That wasn't my thing at all.
I would recommend the Finance and Accounting Specialist course to people who are already working in accounting and would like to gain a deeper insight into the subject of finance.
Yes, I had my aha moment during the Business for Success seminar. As an exercise, we were allowed to run a company ourselves. This gave us an insight into which screws can be turned and what results can be achieved.
The atmosphere among the participants in the Finance and Accounting Specialist course was always very good. Of course, there was sometimes friction, as we had spent a lot of time together. On the whole, however, we were able to resolve them well. Teachers were always very open to questions and comments.
I particularly appreciated the personal and informal atmosphere at HKV Aarau.
I have gained the following from the further training course in finance and accounting:
