What opportunities does a special education school offer?

Would you like to start training or further education in the field of curative education and are you still looking for the right opportunity for you? Have you already completed a Bachelor's degree in psychomotor therapy, speech therapy or a similar field of study? Are you a kindergarten teacher or teacher looking for a new professional and educational challenge?

The latest and very attractive educational opportunity in the field of special education is the Master's degree program in Special Education with a specialization in Early Special Education. The curative education school offers this course of study on a part-time basis. It takes six semesters to complete, with e-learning, group work, self-study and practical support playing an important role in addition to contact studies. During the course of study at a special education school, numerous topics relating to early special education are covered in depth. In addition to diagnostics, evaluation and support, graduates also learn to take on a professional and competent support and advisory role. They learn to cooperate with the families, teachers or caregivers concerned and to always decide and act in the best interests of the child. The focus is always on the child's well-being. The course concludes with a scientifically based Master's thesis in the form of a project. The entire Master's degree program in Early Childhood Curative Education comprises a total of 110 ECTS credits. Are you looking for a curative education school near you with the right course? Questions and answers

A wide variety of professionals can work at a special education school, including teachers, classroom assistants and students or trainees, kitchen staff, janitors and secretarial and administrative staff, as well as school social workers and social pedagogues. People with a bachelor's degree in speech therapy or psychomotor therapy can also be employed there alongside specialists in special education with a master's degree.

Special education graduates work in counseling in early special education, teach children and young people with behavioral problems or disabilities as part of special education at mainstream schools or special education schools and can also work in research and development in special education.

Anyone wishing to study for a Master's degree in special education in order to work at a special education school, for example, requires either a teaching diploma recognized by the EDK for regular classes at pre-school, primary or secondary level, or at least a Bachelor's degree in psychomotor skills or speech therapy. People who have a Bachelor's degree related to the field of study, such as occupational therapy, psychology, social pedagogy, educational science or special education from a university, usually have to meet further requirements. You can find out more about this directly from the relevant schools via the contact form.

Curative education cannot be studied as a Bachelor's degree course, but only as a Master's degree course, which requires a Bachelor's degree. In order to be able to teach this at a remedial school, you must therefore first complete a Master's degree.

At Universities, prospective special needs teachers who want to work at a special needs school can choose one of two specializations for their Master's degree in Special Needs Education: Early Special Needs Education (HFE) or Special Needs Education (SHP).
