Users of kinesiology muscle testing assume that the diseased body itself knows best what it needs to support healing. Kinesiology muscle testing is used because the so-called "statement instrument" in this case is any muscle on the patient's body. The upper arm muscle is mainly used for this, but a muscle test can be carried out on any muscle. The decisive factor for the test is not the strength of the muscle, but its reaction to external stimuli (e.g. thoughts, statements, substances, food, images, music, touch etc.). A distinction is made here between strong and weak muscles. While a strong muscle can withstand a certain amount of pressure, a weak muscle yields to the pressure.

Kinesiology muscle testing is not a test of strength, but a non-verbal communication technique. Questions can be sent to the body, which it can answer with a yes or no depending on the situation: A strong muscle usually means yes, while a weak muscle means no. However, it always depends on the question. Whatever is tested, the body answers whether it is associated with stress or other disruptive factors. In the case of stress and negative feelings, the respective muscle becomes weak. This creates a level of communication between the practitioner and the patient's body, which makes it possible to determine which therapy would have the best effect for the patient and sometimes even where the source of the problem lies.
