The results of a survey of prospective students conducted by the education platform Ausbildung-Weiterbildung.ch show the following reasons for inquiries about management training courses:

• 67 % ask schools on the basis of online evaluation/s
• 14 % make school inquiries based on a recommendation from another manager
• 19 % make a training request to a school they already know

Two free text responses each show an additional school inquiry reason for modular leadership training: "Is near me", "Timing", "It was the first in the series", "Online courses are offered" and "Seen by chance when researching further training".

There are several federally recognized training courses in the field of leadership and also some certificate courses recognized by the Swiss Association for Leadership Education (SVE) in the areas of leadership and management, which also serve as the basis for Federal Professional Examination. However, both certificates can also be completed separately. Following these certificates, the following federally recognized leadership training courses are also available:

Switzerland offers a wide range of seminars, training courses and courses in the field of leadership and management, so it is not always easy to find the right continuing education, further training for your own goals and requirements. All continuing education, further training courses differ in terms of structure and content, and many also differ in terms of target group, degree and duration, requirements and methods. For example, some courses are designed for people with a university degree (CAS, DAS, MAS), while others award a federally recognized qualification after appropriate examinations (FPE, AFPE, CHE). Some continuing education, further training courses last one or two days, others extend over a period of several years. There are currently well over 400 providers listed in this area, all of whom have different ideas and often offer fundamentally different courses. So take a little time when looking for your new continuing education, further training course to find the leadership course that is just right for you.

Certificate courses in leadership and management are training or further education courses at schools and Universities. On the one hand, a distinction is made between courses that are aimed at people without previous in-depth experience in this field and courses that serve as a specialization and have been developed for interested parties with specialist expertise. In addition to the target group, the prerequisites are also different, but generally do not require such strict compliance as is the case with federal continuing education, further training (FPE, AFPE,...). If you are interested in a certificate course but do not meet all of the prescribed requirements, it is always worth asking for more details and requesting an aptitude interview. Certificate courses can have very different orientations, depending on the provider, as they are not uniformly regulated. You should therefore always request the relevant documents from all schools that interest you and for each course that appeals to you, which you can easily receive by email and which will enable you to make a quick comparison. In this way, you can quickly and easily find the right training or further education course in leadership and management.

There are an incredibly large number of further education courses in Switzerland for management training with an internal certificate. And these do not necessarily have to be worse than a federal qualification. The question is rather whether you need a Federal Diploma of Higher Education or a Federal Diploma for your professional career. If it is enough for you to take a management course in which you learn exactly what you need for your current or aspired future position, a certificate course can sometimes be even more beneficial than a Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) or Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE), as it can deal with a much more specific range of topics.
