In nature education, nature becomes a space for play, learning, work, rest and identification. It offers phenomena, objects and materials that encourage creative, manual or playful activities as well as environmental learning.
In our courses, we combine these areas and enable participants to enable people to have intensive, holistic encounters with nature and take steps towards a conscious, loving relationship with nature, their fellow human beings and themselves. To this end, we impart basic pedagogical knowledge, specialist knowledge, methodological and practical tools in the course.
The training takes place exclusively in the great outdoors. We experience the earth, sun, wind, fire, animals and plants directly and unadulterated - our own relationship with nature forms the root of nature education.

Our ancestors were still completely connected to nature. They had to gather wood to warm themselves by the fire or cook a simple meal. Exposed to the weather and the seasons, they looked for or built a shelter. Children also feel the connection to nature even more clearly and directly than we adults do. They play and discover in nature what our ancestors already did: hide and sneak, make a fire, observe animals, build a hut, collect blueberries, climb, bathe in a stream... We want to spark and enable the joy of observing and discovering in nature, being active in the forest, trying things out and being creative with all the senses through the imwald nature education course. What a wonderful place of learning the forest is, giving us powerful experiences and touching moments. Strengthened by this course, the participants take their experiences out into the world and enable other people to deepen their relationship with nature, themselves and others.

Environmental, nature and forest educators have extensive knowledge and skills in all aspects of experience-oriented environmental education. In order to be able to work as a nature educator, in addition to knowledge of nature topics, pedagogical training is therefore also required, which is not necessarily sufficiently provided in every continuing education, further training course. To work in nature education, it therefore makes sense to have a pedagogical or socio-educational qualification, for example as a playgroup leader, teacher or supervisor. However, training in adult education, socio-cultural animation or a scientific profession can also serve as a basis for continuing education, further training in environmental education. Therefore, please inform yourself comprehensively about the skills and content that the respective continuing education, further training courses will provide you with.
A course in nature education is not an apprenticeship, but rather continuing education, further training that often builds on existing pedagogical knowledge. However, as continuing education, further training as a nature educator is not a federally recognized course, the requirements for participants vary from school to school.
