The term "pharmaceutical marketing" refers to the following: advertising, i.e. the distribution of pharmaceutical products, such as various types of medication, with the help of targeted advertising measures. However, unlike "classic" marketing, pharmaceutical marketing is subject to strict guidelines and regulations - in other words, it is strictly regulated.

In many countries, it is forbidden to advertise prescription-only medicines. Manufacturers are allowed to advertise over-the-counter medicines publicly (online advertising, posters, commercials, etc.), but the note "For risks and side effects, ask your doctor or pharmacist" must always be included. Google is also looking more and more closely at content from the pharmaceutical industry - only those websites that are rated by Google as having good expertise and authority are now ranked well.

Nevertheless, the pharmaceutical industry spends many millions, if not billions, on pharmaceutical marketing every year. It offers many opportunities to reach the respective target group with digital content and appropriate channels, offering them added value and thus gaining their trust.

However, such trust can only be gained through good communication and information with high added value. They form the basis for good pharmaceutical marketing and thus also for increasing awareness and sales.
