Salary after completion of the course to become a "certified tourism specialist CHE"

The courses at College of Higher Education (CHE) level provide you with specific specialist knowledge and technical and management skills. These will qualify you to take on demanding specialist and management tasks and to manage a smaller company. With an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education (CHE), you have a good chance of increasing your salary.

The salary or salary development depends on various factors, such as the industry, region, size of the company, professional experience, previous education and age. In terms of salary, the question of whether a new position and function in the previous or another company will be taken up upon graduation is also decisive.

You can calculate your personal salary prospects in employment with "Salarium", the federal government's salary calculator. We have calculated a possible case to illustrate this. It is intended as an example and shows the statistical average.

Example of an increase in salary with the acquisition of the Advanced Diploma of Higher Education (Achtung: Engl. wie zum Dipliplom Tourismusfachfrau / zum Tourismusfachmann CHE)

Roberto, 23 years old at the time, worked for a small coach company in Basel-Stadt with 10 employees after completing his commercial apprenticeship with BM1. He worked there as a consultant and organized trips on behalf of customers: from the coach to the accommodation and meals in the respective destinations to the tourist activities on site. With his commercial apprenticeship and 5 years of professional experience, he earned CHF 4,651 per month.

Roberto enjoyed his work at the Reisecar company - but he saw his future not only in traditional travel consulting, but also wanted to develop his own projects, preferably with an ecological focus. He therefore decided to take part in continuing education, further training to become a qualified tourism specialist CHE. 3 years later, he passed his final examination with flying colors. In addition to his previous tasks, he was able to tackle his own project to improve the eco-balance of car travel at his employer and thus put his new knowledge to the test in his day-to-day work. Roberto has now been doing his more demanding job for 3 years. He currently earns CHF 5,427 per month, which corresponds to a salary increase of almost 17%.
