You should meet the following personal requirements for an apprenticeship as a logistics assistant:

• Business and/or technical knowledge
• Good knowledge of German and English (oral and written)
• Precise working method

The following further training courses are available after the Logistics Assistant course:

• Logistician BP

Both options are completed with a professional examination and the award of a federal certificate.

The logistics assistant course with certificate usually lasts 1 semester. It usually takes place on two evenings a week and/or on Saturdays.

The following is taught in a logistics assistant training course with a diploma in logistics clerk SVBL:

• Basics of logistics management
• Fundamentals of general management
• Basics in organization and processes
• Self-knowledge, self-management and team leadership

The costs for the logistics assistant course vary depending on the school, but are between CHF 3,500 and CHF 4,300.

The following tasks can be carried out after the Logistics Clerk training:

• Work for logistics providers or in production and trading companies that have their own logistics department
• know the basic processes of logistics
• be responsible as a generalist for work from several logistics disciplines

• Organize and coordinate transports in collaboration with the logistics department heads

In most cases, a good knowledge of mathematics and German as well as everyday office skills are required for the logistics assistant course. At some schools, professional experience in the logistics environment may also be expected.
