HR Manager / Head of Human Resources with a federal diploma: Responsible for all personnel

Field of activity:

An HR manager is a practitioner in a managerial position with leadership responsibility in HR management (HRM) from the private sector or public administration who has the necessary skills and knowledge to meet higher standards in their profession. The Higher Professional Examination for the Diploma in Head of Human Resources aims to enable practitioners in managerial positions and with managerial responsibility to obtain a diploma.

Task profile of the diploma holder:

  • have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and understand the economic interrelationships in a company
  • be able to formulate an overall HR policy and the resulting sub-policies and place them in the strategic context of the company as a whole
  • recognize social and technical trends and their impact on the world of work and initiate and support the necessary change processes within the company
  • have the communication, cooperation and conflict resolution skills expected of a human resources manager
  • be able to perform the role of coach and controller for line managers in all matters relating to HR policy
  • have the specialist knowledge required for a key function in human resources
  • have sufficient personnel management and social skills to manage employees in an HR department

The Human Resources course (HR Manager Training) enables professionals to deal with the demands of strategic and integrated HR management. The course pursues the following objectives: It integrates the area of labor and social security law so that you can assign the principles of the respective legal texts in connection with your work as a Swiss certified Head of Human Resources and derive and evaluate the effects or legal consequences for companies. Qualification for professional cooperation in internal or external change projects, taking into account the specific conditions of a company or organization. Building on their knowledge of personnel management, students are familiar with the basics of change management. They acquire and train the ability to carry out a wide range of tasks in personnel management professionally and develop contemporary solutions in practical work. All job applicants who wish to enter the field of personnel management should have a comprehensive education and training in the field of human resources (HR manager training).

Agile HR management is an important topic for HR professionals who want to establish a dynamic and agile structure in the HR department in an agile organization. Several years of experience in the field of human resources is recommended to ensure a comprehensive understanding.

The first step towards agile HR is to shift the focus from HR itself to the business itself. There are three parts to the Higher Professional Examination (HFP) to become a qualified Head of Human Resources.

The admission requirements for the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) are as follows:

  • Federal Diploma of Higher Education for HR Specialist or another Federal Diploma of Higher Education (FPE) with HR-related job descriptions

and

  • At least six years of professional experience, of which either two years as qualified HR practice or four years in HR project or HR consulting functions for complex tasks

or

  • Degree from a university, University of Applied Sciences, College of Higher Education or a Federal Professional Examination (AFPE)

and

  • At least four years of professional experience, of which either two years as qualified HR practice or four years in HR project or HR consulting functions for complex tasks

or

  • Degree at continuing education and training / tertiary level
  • At least six years of management experience, including two years in management across two hierarchical levels

Depending on previous education, at least four to six years of professional experience are required for continuing education, further training to become a qualified Head of Human Resources, of which either two years as a qualified HR practitioner or four years in HR project or HR consulting functions for complex tasks. Or at least six years of professional experience, including two years in management functions at two hierarchical levels.

The part-time continuing education, further training to become a certified Head of Human Resources takes around three semesters until the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE). Please enquire about the exact duration of the course and the subsequent examination before registering.

HR managers are employed in medium-sized companies at the top management level or in large companies with sub-divisional responsibility. They work in public administration and in private companies.
