How do I become a social media manager? What training and qualifications are there?

You can obtain the certificate as a social media manager in continuing education courses. There are no formal requirements for the certificate courses. However, it is very advantageous - and some providers also require this - if you have basic vocational training and have already gained some experience in marketing, communication or journalism.

Some providers offer courses that focus exclusively on social media management. In other certificate courses, you will learn social media management as part of online marketing or combined with topics such as event management, sponsoring and e-commerce.

Some courses are certified by IAB Switzerland - the representative of the digital advertising industry in Switzerland. The association guarantees the quality of the course concepts and instructors for IAB-certified courses.
