I decided to go on a language study trip because it was compulsory at school. I also wanted to improve my French skills.
The language study trip took place in Le Fuet. Le Fuet is a small village in the Bernese Jura near Tavannes.
The language course lasted four weeks in fall 2016.
I was very happy with my language study trip. The host family was very nice and took me in straight away. They also allowed me to bring my horse with me, which was very convenient. I had a lot of fun in general. I got on very well with the vacation children.
Personally, the language study trip gave me more self-confidence. I was able to use and improve the French I had learned. My level has risen, which has helped me a lot in the professional world.
You have to overcome yourself, but you should definitely do it. It was the most exciting time I've ever had. However, you should think carefully about where you want to go and compare the destinations of your stay with the respective schools or institutions.

In retrospect, I would contact a qualified provider and not try to organize the stay myself. That way I can better tailor the language stay to my needs.
