Stress coaching is a profession requiring further training. This means that to be able to work as a stress coach, you must have successfully completed an apprenticeship or university degree and have several years of professional experience.
Training in stress coaching is available at various levels.
Entry usually takes place via non-federally regulated courses that conclude with the school's own certificate. The schools often work together with relevant national and international professional associations and follow their guidelines and quality standards.

As with most coaching training courses, stress coaching is often accessed via basic coaching training, for example as an integral coach or comparable training.

A central component of training as a stress coach is also suitable courses on one or more relaxation methods, such as meditation, yoga or autogenic training. These are often taken in addition to and on top of the stress coach training.
Further training in the field of stress coaching is currently (as of spring 2021) available as a CAS in coaching or resilience training.
