Who are you and what job do you do?

My name is Werner Buchmann. I am deputy rector at the BZWU and head of continuing education, further training at our school. This area comprises around 2,500 students with numerous courses and training programs up to CHE level (College of Higher Education). In my area of responsibility, I am also in charge of the "Dipl. Unternehmensprozesse CHE (now Process Technology CHE)" course and its successful implementation.

The Corporate Processes CHE course (new: Process Technology CHE) is suitable for technically trained people - especially those who work in a production-related environment and have a Federal VET Diploma. These are, for example, polymechanics, design engineers, plant and apparatus engineers or production mechanics. In other words, technically trained specialists who would like to continue their education in the specialist area and develop further in the direction of process management, work preparation or production planning.

With a degree as a technician CHE corporate processes (new: process technician CHE), you can go into work preparation, production planning or purchasing in the production environment. An alternative field of activity outside of a production company is the process-oriented environment in a service company. There, processes are designed, developed and managed.

What exactly do you learn on this course?

On the Business Processes CHE degree program (new: Process Engineering CHE) you learn:

  • Organizing and planning production and manufacturing in the company
  • Analyzing business processes

After that, you are the generalist in the production-related environment and process specialist who takes care of process optimization. In this way, entrepreneurial decisions can be made regarding internal or external production, determination of vertical integration, etc. These are some of the learning contents of this practice-oriented and transfer-oriented training in Corporate Processes CHE (now: Process Technology CHE).

How long does such continuing education, further training take?

Continuing education, further training in business processes CHE (now: process technology CHE) takes three and a half years. This is twice as long as the process specialist course, for example.

The costs for the Corporate Processes CHE course (new: Process Technology CHE) range from CHF 19,000 to CHF 22,000. This is a general guideline, as the price depends on the duration of the course. The cantonal subsidies have already been deducted.

Why should you study Business Processes CHE at this school?

The Business Processes CHE (now: Process Engineering CHE) degree program is a two-cycle concept. This means that after two years, students complete the Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Process Engineering. After a further one and a half years, you will graduate as a technician CHE in business processes (now: process technician CHE). As a result, you will receive two federally recognized qualifications - a Federal Diploma of Higher Education and an Advanced Federal Diploma of Higher Education.

There are many, we have had people studying Business Processes CHE (now: Process Technology CHE) who now run an SME as CEO or Managing Director.
