Mirjam graduated from high school in Bern with a federal baccalaureate. As she didn't yet know what she wanted to study, she started working in customer support for a large Swiss insurance company with over 1000 employees. Here she carried out administrative tasks such as receiving mail and answering the phone for customer inquiries of all kinds. After a year, at the age of 20, she was earning CHF 4,712 a month.
After this year, Mirjam was still undecided as to whether she wanted to study at a Universities - she liked the work at the insurance company too much and so time flew by and she now worked at the insurance company for a total of three years. Based on the customer inquiries, she was particularly interested in insurance advice. Mirjam's boss suggested that she take the step of insurance brokerage and aim for the Federal Professional Examination in Insurance Specialization "Sales and Support" in order to obtain the federal qualification that is so popular on the job market in the foreseeable future. So Mirjam quickly completed the 14-day course and the "Insurance Broker VBV" exam and then the preparatory course for the federal exam. Just over three semesters later, she passed the Federal Professional Examination with good grades and has been working in her new role as a customer advisor at the same insurance company ever since. Thanks to her excellent performance, she was even able to take over the management of a team of three. Her salary has risen by almost 30% to around CHF 6,106 per month thanks to the acquisition of the Federal Diploma of Higher Education for Insurance Specialists and her more demanding tasks.
