Salary increase after completion of the "ICT Manager (AFPE)" course

The Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) in ICT Management provides you with high-level specialist knowledge and leadership skills. These will qualify you to take on demanding and complex specialist and management tasks and to manage a company. With the federal diploma, your chances of a pay rise increase accordingly.

The salary depends on various factors, such as the industry, region, size of the company, professional experience, previous education and age. In terms of salary, the question of whether a new position and function in the previous or another company will be taken up upon graduation is also decisive.

Anna completed a four-year apprenticeship as a computer scientist (Federal VET Diploma) at a large Swiss bank in Glarus. Anna had been working in platform development at this bank since completing her apprenticeship. However, she missed the interaction with customers and wanted to take on more responsibility, which is why she completed the Federal Diploma of Higher Education in Business Information Technology at the age of 26. From then on, she acted as a bridge builder between customers and the ICT department. She developed, supported and analyzed smaller IT projects as part of a team. Thanks to her Federal Diploma of Higher Education, Anna was earning CHF 8,540 per month after 4 years at lower management level.

But Anna wanted more, especially strategic tasks. She could also imagine managing a larger team or an entire department and therefore decided to take the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) in ICT Management - a solid training for the leap into upper management. After attending the preparatory course, Anna successfully passed the Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) three semesters later, at the age of 33.

Three years after graduating, Anna was able to take on a role as deputy manager and gain experience in a more complex project. Two years later, further extensive projects were added, which meant that she had more and more employees under her. The Advanced Federal Professional Examination (AFPE) and her promotion to senior management meant that she now earns CHF 9,848 per month, which is the same as she has earned since obtaining her federal diploma.Wage increase of 15 %corresponds.
