Company mentor: Coaching in the working environment and company
Company mentors support companies and their employees in professional learning, change and development processes. They develop mentoring concepts for organizational changes, conflicts in teams, etc. and accompany employees through the respective processes in the role of coach, consultant and trainer.
Company mentors first clarify the concerns, framework conditions and expectations of their clients in personal discussions and then help them to develop and implement a coping strategy. Finally, they evaluate the mentoring process and obtain feedback from the client in order to check the quality of the mentoring and optimize it if necessary.
Company mentors are usually employed by medium-sized or large companies, work on behalf of consulting firms or are self-employed.
Unlike job coaches with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education, who support people who, for various reasons, have difficulty entering or remaining in the labor market and are in close contact with employers and other offices and contact points, company mentors do not work in labor market integration, but on behalf of companies with their employees.
The State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation SERI responded to the great interest in the booming coaching and consulting industry and at the same time shed light on the somewhat opaque professional sector. Prior to this, only associations, in particular the Professional Association for Coaching, Supervision and Organizational Consulting (bso), guaranteed the quality of such training. The Federal Professional Examination added a qualification option at federal level.
The company mentor training covers essential topics such as process support, role clarification, legal principles, conflict management, self-management, career coaching, marketing and administration. In most cases, supervision sessions are also a fundamental part of the training.
Empathetic people with good analytical and communication skills and an interest in business management issues who want to accompany, advise and support people in their day-to-day work are in the right place with a company mentor training course.
